Help Prepare PICPA’s Advocacy Now for a Busy 2026 and Beyond
The CPA-PAC is one of the most respected advocacy tools in Pennsylvania. It has helped lay the foundation for the many legislative accomplishments that protect and advance the CPA profession.
The strength of the CPA profession in Pennsylvania has always come from those individuals who are willing to step forward – those who contribute their time, their expertise, and their voices to ensure CPAs remain a trusted and influential force in Harrisburg. For years, dedicated members have helped build the CPA Political Action Committee (CPA-PAC) into one of the most respected advocacy tools in Pennsylvania. Their insight and commitment laid the foundation for the many legislative accomplishments that protect and advance our profession today.
But advocacy doesn’t stand still. Public policy and politics change quickly, and PICPA’s influence depends on keeping pace. The issues facing CPAs – from tax modernization and regulatory reform to deregulating licensing standards and state budget priorities – are more complex and consequential than ever. Policymakers rely on CPAs, particularly members of the PICPA, to bring them clear, practical, and objective insight. Our CPA-PAC is what ensures that we are at the table when it matters most.
As new political voices and leaders step forward, it becomes self-evident that strong advocacy requires consistent, collective support. PAC contributions, large and small, directly fuel our ability to build relationships, support candidates who understand our profession, and ensure the CPA perspective is heard long before decisions are made. Every contribution strengthens our credibility and amplifies our voice.
But if you are under the impression that just being a PICPA member automatically supports CPA-PAC, you may want to dig a little deeper. The CPA-PAC relies solely on voluntary contributions from individuals (corporate donations aren’t allowed), and dues dollars cannot be used to support the PAC. That’s the law, and it is why your personal efforts to support the CPA-PAC truly make a difference.
Those who have served on the CPA-PAC board know better than anyone how essential this work is. Their leadership and vision have shaped the PAC’s successes, and their legacy continues in every engagement, every conversation, and every legislative win. Now, we invite every PICPA member to help carry that work forward.
“Public policy and politics go hand in hand, and few understand that better than PICPA members,” says Charles Waring, CPA, chair of the CPA-PAC board. “Your steadfast advocacy ensures that the profession remains a respected and influential voice in Harrisburg. The PAC’s legislative and political successes reflect your insight, leadership, and dedication. Your efforts are truly woven into the fabric of our shared accomplishments.”
If you believe in the importance of a strong, independent, respected, and unified profession, this is the moment to step forward. CPA-PAC’s goal is to finish 2025 in a solid financial position so we’re fully prepared for what will be a demanding 2026 state election cycle – one that puts the governor’s office, all 203 state House seats, and half of the Pennsylvania Senate on the ballot. Your support now ensures the profession has the means, stability, and influence it needs when it matters most.
Your financial support of the CPA-PAC is one of the most impactful ways to protect the profession’s future.
It keeps us influential.
