Supporting the CPA-PAC Is Crucial

CPA-PAC receives no funding from PICPA membership dues; every dollar comes from voluntary contributions. So, your participation is essential to ensuring the PICPA remains an influential advocate for the CPA profession in Pennsylvania.

The decisions made in Harrisburg shape our profession far more directly than anything that may come out of Washington, D.C. State tax policy, licensure rules, business regulations – all of these issues are debated and decided in the state capital. It is critical for CPAs to have a strong, well-funded voice. That voice is CPA-PAC – the political arm of the PICPA and the only political action committee (PAC) dedicated to protecting and advancing the CPA profession in Pennsylvania.

CPA-PAC is more than a fundraising vehicle; it is a strategic tool that gives the PICPA and the accounting profession a voice where it matters most. By pooling voluntary contributions from PICPA members, CPA-PAC supports candidates who understand and champion the accounting profession’s priorities. It opens doors for meaningful dialogue with decision-makers, builds lasting relationships, and ensures our expertise is heard when policy is being shaped.

Individual voices can be lost in the noise of competing interests. The collective effort of CPA-PAC, however, amplifies those voices, representing not just one member, but an entire profession with a shared commitment to sound policy and good governance.

Together, PICPA’s government relations team and CPA-PAC have forged powerful relationships with lawmakers, positioned CPAs as indispensable advisers to state leaders, and secured legislative wins that directly protect you, your clients, and your profession. The CPA brand is respected, trusted, and valued.

Why Funding Matters

Political campaigns – even on the state level – are expensive, and the unfortunate reality is that access often follows resources. A state senate race in southeastern Pennsylvania can easily cost several million dollars. Supporting CPA-PAC enables your PICPA government relations team to engage legislators across the political spectrum, participate in policy discussions early in the process, and defend against proposals that could harm the CPA profession or the public we serve.

The results are real. Already in 2025, the PICPA has delivered vital wins while working with a closely divided state legislature. After laying a solid grassroots foundation, in just 16 legislative days we helped pass Act 27 of 2025, a law that modernizes and strengthens Pennsylvania’s CPA licensure framework. This landmark law makes it easier and more affordable for aspiring CPAs to join the profession while also safeguarding the streamlined interstate practice model that ensures the public has reliable access to essential CPA services.

In recent years, as well, CPA-PAC engagement has helped secure tax and regulatory changes that reduced compliance burdens, protected CPAs’ ability to represent their clients, and preserved our ability to serve clients across state lines. These wins didn’t happen by chance. They were the direct result of strategic advocacy supported by CPA-PAC funding.

It’s an Investment, Not a Donation

Think of your CPA-PAC contribution as an investment in the future of your profession. The resources raised help ensure that when lawmakers consider new laws – whether related to taxation, professional licensing, or business regulation – our perspective is part of the conversation. And because CPA-PAC is regulated, your contributions are transparent and directed toward candidates and causes aligned with PICPA’s mission.

Every Member Counts

You don’t need to contribute thousands of dollars to make a difference. When many members give what they can, CPA-PAC’s influence grows exponentially. A well-funded PAC signals strength, unity, and commitment – qualities that legislators notice.

Legislative and regulatory decisions made in Harrisburg will directly affect how you work, serve clients, and grow your practice. Supporting CPA-PAC ensures that those decisions are informed by the expertise, ethics, and real-world perspective of our profession.

Now is the time to stand together. CPA-PAC receives no funding from PICPA membership dues; every dollar comes from voluntary contributions like yours. So, your participation is essential to ensuring we remain an influential advocate for the CPA profession in Pennsylvania. Your investment – in any amount – strengthens our presence in Harrisburg. Please support CPA-PAC, your voice in Pennsylvania’s political arena.
